Empathic Listening

In NVC, empathic listening means being fully present without giving advice, sharing your story, or reassuring. Test your ability to recognize it.

The 4 Types of Responses

Minimizes or promises improvement

The key to empathic listening

Stay with the other person's experience. Reflect their feelings and needs without trying to fix, share, or reassure. Ask: "Are you feeling... because you need...?"
